WORLD REFUGEE DAY
June 20th, 2008
 Here we are infront of the UNHCR logo.  We met with several people, including these two student interns.  To open up the ceremony, there were both dance and drum performances.  A clip from the slideshow  Chicago Bulls forward, Luol Deng was presented with the Humanitarian of the Year award  Speaking to the audience  Addressing the crowd  After a quick speech, we got to present our check.  We also met with Daoud Hari, a refugee from Darfur, and author of The Translator.  A refugee from Burma, Thimonthy Ju was featured on the MTV show True Life: I'm Coming to America
We believe that, as students, we share a unique perspective - and that we CAN and SHOULD make a difference in the world.
